Roman Kresta grew up in Trnava near big city Zlin, from a child hood he loves sport and he very often plays soccer. He goes to the school and became auto mechanic and already on school he loves rally. Became a mechanic in team NEFOS and prepared racing car Skoda Favorit.

First chance he got in 1994, when with co-driver Jan Tomanek together sit down to the rally car. With borrowed Favorit they take 14. place in final classification and 6 place in class A/1400 (in terms of Championship CZ) as well as 1.place in formula 2 (Central European Championship).

In the year 1999 Roman with Jan took off with new car Skoda Felicia Kit Car, with which placed to the final tenth place. General result was 1-place in Formula 2 (Zone Middle Europe), 1-place in formula 2 in Championship CZ as well as top in class A/1600 in Championship CR.

This result catapults them to the project Skoda Octavia WRC, in whose they became with Jan Tomanek factory crew in Skoda Motorsport. In the year 2000 for the first time start with Octavia WRC in strongest class AB. They have some problems from the beginning, but they become champions in MMCR. After that Roman Kresta take 3-place in Memorial Attila Bettegy in Italy.

Main target for 2001 year was defending championship crown. Roman with Jan started with new car Skoda Octavia WRC EVO II and won in of all races. They take title on Barum rally and then they start on 4 rallies in World Rally Championship. In December he again go to the Memorial Bettegy and take silver position.

Early in season 2002 became Kresta and Tomanek third factory drew in Skoda Motorsport. His big dream coming true and Roman can go to the WRC with Octavia WRC. At the end of the year then auditioned cooperation with new co-driver Milos Hulka, with him negotiation serial in the year 2003.

As well Roman arbitrated for a change car and for his next work in automobile rally he selected Peugeot and team Bozian Racing. At Rallye Monte Carlo in the year 2003, so for the first time in life, he starts on rally with Peugeot 206 WRC.

In the year 2005 Roman Kresta became factory crew in Ford and was team rider colleague Toni Gardemeister. He was driving all year one of the best car in WRC Ford Focus WRC. At the end of the year he sit to the newer car Ford Focus WRC 2006.

In the year 2006 he became only test driver for Ford WRT and then he drive Ford Fiesta Super 1600 in British Rally Champioship. But that wasn’t good year for Czech driver. He only won Barum rally Zlin 2006, but in British Rally Champioship he did not have any good result.

Also therefore in the year 2007 directed his activities back to the Czech Republic, to could again introduce on home ground in Czech Republic. Four starts with car Mitsubishi Lancer Eve IX in season 2007 brought him up general third place on MMCR.

In the year 2008 then fully throw up to the MMCR and take another title with co-driver Petr Gross. About title was already clear after Barum rally Zlin, where Kresta crash on second stage of the second day. But his biggest rival Vaclav Pech must retired too with technical problem, so Kresta take title without the fight.
